LOCATION: Camp Ponderosa Ranch - Heber, AZ

STATUS: Seasonal/FT Temp (June 2- July 25) Onsite housing available

QUALIFICATIONS



  • Must have a HS Diploma or GED
  • Minimum age 21 years old
  • Minimum 1 year of kitchen or dining experience
  • Leadership experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to work patiently with teenagers
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to mentor and manage Food Service front of house staff


RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Responsible for assisting in all aspects of food service that pertain to the dining hall, canteen, & evening snacks
  • Assist with the proper implementation of the Summer Food Service Program.
  • Involvement in the total camp program with willingness to help in all areas as needed, including dining room, campfire programs, canteen, children with problems, evening programs, chapel, etc.
  • Attend and contribute to staff meetings.
  • Lead hospitality crew in serving all food as directed by the Kitchen Manager.
  • Keep accurate records of meals served for USDA program
  • Responsible for sharing with Food Service Manager and Camp Director all matters of mutual concern relating to the total welfare of the camp
  • Responsible for observing and enforcing the set curfew of staff living on-site.
  • Assist in all aspects of food service as requested by the Kitchen Manager.
  • Assist in record keeping, temperature charts, and meal counts.
  • Create and communicate hospitality staff assignments.
  • Maintain proper sanitation of the dining area.
  • Maintain and serve proper portions of food in accordance with SFSP regulations.
  • Interpret and share responsibility for safety and health regulations.
  • Aid in providing oversight into the cleanliness of the dining hall facility and canteen facility following daily cleaning procedures as well as end-of-camp procedures. This includes hallways, windows (both inside and out), walkways around the dining hall and other areas as specified by the Kitchen Manager.
  • Help the Kitchen Manager keep accurate inventories of canteen items.
  • Take the lead in transporting and distributing the evening snack with the hospitality crew.
  • Help in the canteen as assigned.
  • Participate in evening programs as requested by the Program Director, and plan for hospitality staff participation. (campfire skits, chapel, etc.)
  • Aide in the welfare of all health, cleanliness, good habits, and happiness of all campers.
  • Report matters of concern immediately to the Kitchen Manager or as needed, Camp Director.
  • Participate in the first day and last-day assignments as directed/scheduled.
  • Provide supervision and oversight of minor staff in a shared housing facility.
  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness in your personal living space if you live on-site.
  • On rotation, serve as Break Day Supervisor, ensuring lock-up of camp, policy enforcement, and general safety of remaining staff members.
  • Assist with the evaluations of kitchen staff as requested by Kitchen Manager or Camp Director
  • Other duties as assigned as related to the operation of the summer camp program.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must have the ability to operate telephone, a desktop or laptop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information from a computer, and to understand written information.
