Description
We are seeking a Site Security Director to lead and oversee the security operations of our facility, ensuring compliance with industrial, Special Access Programs (SAP), and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security requirements. This role requires a leader who is mission-oriented, deeply committed to protecting national security interests, and culture-driven, fostering an environment of accountability, trust, and excellence within the security team and across the organization. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in security program management, government regulations, and classified environments, while also demonstrating strong leadership, collaboration, and people development skills to create a superior security culture. On any given day, you will be responsible for:
- Security Leadership & Culture Development
- Lead all aspects of the security program, ensuring compliance with DoD, IC, and federal security regulations (e.g., NISPOM, ICDs, DoDM 5205.07, 32 CFR Part 117, and other applicable directives).
- Establish and maintain a strong security culture that aligns with both mission-critical customer needs and employee engagement-ensuring security is not just a compliance function but a key enabler of business success.
- Develop and implement security education, training, and awareness programs to reinforce best practices and security consciousness across the organization.
- Program Compliance & Oversight
- Serve as the focal Facility Security Officer (FSO), Contractor Program Security Officers (CPSO) and Special Security Officer (SSO), overseeing security operations related to SAPs, SCI programs, and industrial security requirements. Delegation of those positions may be permitted based on the team's qualifications.
- Ensure the security team maintains full compliance with DD Form 254 requirements, program security guides, and classified contract security obligations.
- Lead self-inspections, audits, and assessments to proactively identify and mitigate security risks, while preparing for Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) and customer security reviews.
- Personnel & Physical Security Operations
- Manage personnel security functions, including eligibility determinations, clearance processing, Continuous Evaluation (CE), and reporting requirements for employees with access to classified materials.
- Oversee physical security, intrusion detection systems (IDS), access control, and visitor management in accordance with government and corporate policies for designated secure areas.
- Coordinate secure construction planning and accreditation for classified workspaces (SCIFs, SAPFs) as needed.
- Cross-Functional & Customer Engagement
- Act as the primary security liaison to government agencies, defense contractors, and intelligence community partners, ensuring alignment on security requirements and operational effectiveness.
- Work closely with executive leadership, program managers, and cyber security teams to integrate security into business strategies and operational planning.
- Mentor, train, and develop a team of security professionals to ensure high performance and career growth.
- Oversee and develop solid relationships with multiple subcontractors to ensure security requirements of the provided DD254 are adhered to.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or higher.
- Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility (CI or Full Scope Polygraph preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in industrial security, SAP/SCI programs, and classified program security management.
- Deep understanding of NISPOM, ICD 705, DoDM 5205.07, and other security regulatory frameworks.
- Experience leading DCSA security reviews, customer inspections, and government audits.
Preferred Qualifications
- CISSP, ISP, or SPeD certification.
- Experience managing multiple security disciplines (Personnel, Physical, Cyber, OPSEC, and INFOSEC) in a complex environment.
- Previous experience working with defense primes, intelligence agencies, or DoD contractors in a senior security role.
- Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements, build scalable security programs, and enhance organizational compliance.
- Proven ability to develop a high-performing security culture, balancing mission execution with team engagement.
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to collaborate across functions, and exceptional leadership capabilities.
