More about the role

As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you'll be responsible for helping us build and test our latest innovations. You'll be part of our multi-disciplinary Philips Hue engineering team in the Bay Area. This is a fast-growing site with responsibilities to create and maintain software products that take the Philips Hue system beyond the lighting domain. We develop first-of-a-kind products that make bright home security possible by using end-to-end video encryption, a combination of light and sound alarming, and enable presence mimicking when arming the system. Which is all controlled from the Philips Hue Mobile App for iOS and Android. We're currently extending the team to build a completely new line of products within the Hue ecosystem.

More about the role

  • Test Planning and Coordination: Estimate, prioritize, and coordinate testing and release activities within an Agile development environment.
  • Test Execution and Analysis: Execute comprehensive test cases to ensure the quality of existing and new functionalities. Analyze test results and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse, global teams across multiple time zones. Work closely with App and Embedded Software teams to align testing efforts and support new feature development, hardware testing, and manual firmware and app testing
  • Defect Management: Document, investigate, and report defects discovered during testing and beta programs. Collaborate with development teams to resolve issues promptly.
  • Test Automation: Support the implementation and maintenance of automated test cases to increase efficiency and improve overall test coverage.

More about you

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline
  • Knowledge of software QA methodologies, common testing tools/test case management tools, and processes.
  • Knowledge on writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
  • Knowledge on BLE testing and automation
  • Knowledge on API testing and network communication technologies including HTTP and MQTT
  • Strong quality and collaboration mindset with passion for delivering the best Smart Home product experiences
  • A passion for IoT products and an affinity with Smart Home application domains like lighting and security

Salary: $72200 -$105,930 5% AI
