Position Summary The Instructor Materials is responsible for delivering training to JetBlue Airways' Materials Technical Operations crewmembers and business partners. Essential Responsibilities * Facilitate classroom and on the job training (OJT) * Achieve and maintain qualification(s) of a Materials Specialist * Assist with the revision of Technical Operations training program for JetBlue University, College of Technical Operations * Other duties as assigned Minimum Experience and Qualifications * High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma * Three (3) years' experience in Materials Specialist/warehousing * Ability to achieve and maintain qualification(s) of a Materials crewmember * Successfully pass the Materials and General Maintenance Manual (GMM) training courses. Depending on location you may be required to pass an International Air Transport Association (IATA) or Department of Transportation (DOT) approved Hazardous Material Training Course and maintain recurrent training of the course * Work in a team with the Training Standards and Design team, Subject Matter Experts, and the College of Tech Ops Curriculum Supervisor to create and maintain the training program * Ability to operate tugs, trucks, lift trucks, snorkel lift, boom lift and tractor and/or other vehicles * Ability to communicate effectively; in both oral and written communication * Ability to crawl, bend, kneel, climb, and stoop frequently in confined spaces * Ability to work under pressure in a team environment * Ability to remain alert to moving vehicles * Ability to use handheld two-way radios, headsets and/or phone * Ability to work flexible shifts, travel and/or work variable hours including holidays and weekends * Ability to acquire and maintain access to the CBP Federal Inspection Services (FIS) areas at airports (e.g., FIS seal on SIDA badge) * Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge * Possess and maintain a valid Driver License and a driving record that allows driving on applicable airports and meets JetBlue Airways' insurance standards * Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite * Strong organizational skills * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Attention to detail and willingness to settle for nothing short of excellence * Ability to work in a team environment * Must be in possession of valid travel documents with the ability to travel in and out of the United States * Available for occasional overnight travel (40%) * Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test * Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located * Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship Preferred Experience and Qualifications * Three (3) years of Leadership Experience * Working knowledge of Dangerous Goods Shipping Practices Crewmember Expectations: * Regular attendance and punctuality * Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice * Able to maintain a professional appearance * When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft * Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun * Must fulfill safety accountabilities as prescribed by JetBlue's Safety Management System * Promote JetBlue's #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue's Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards * Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue's confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR)) * Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls * Uphold JetBlue's safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities * The use of ChatGPT or any other automated tool during the interview process will disqualify a candidate from being considered for the position. Equipment: * Computer and other office equipment * Obtain tools listed on the Minimum Tool List within thirty (30) days of employment * Operate lift trucks, snorkel lift, boom lift and tractor after attending training * Issued reflective safety vest and ear protection * Ability to use handheld two way radios, headsets and/or phone Work Environment: * Live maintenance environment * Traditional office environment * Work may be outdoors with seasonal weather * Bids work schedule by seniority (days, swings, or midnight shift, holidays) * Ability to work in elevated areas Physical Effort: * Position requires strenuous physical work. Heavy lifting, pushing or pulling of objects up to 100 pounds occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds frequently and crawl, bend, kneel, climb, and stoop frequently in confined spaces. (Heavy) |
