As a Staff Accountant, you will play a vital role in supporting Applied's monthly consolidation process and ensuring timely and accurate reporting. You will have the opportunity to have a positive impact by providing assistance with the month-end, quarter-end & the June year-end close, maintaining financial records and assisting in financial analysis on a monthly basis.

Your Day-To-Day Responsibilities

  • Prepare adjusting and month-end journal entries.
  • Prepare G/L and bank account reconciliations and resolve variances.
  • Communicate with other departments and locations on account reconciliation details.
  • Continual knowledge of the impact your job has on other departments.
  • Perform variance analysis as part of the monthly close process.
  • Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
  • Maintain procedures to ensure that transactions are executed in accordance with general or specific authorization.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and timely records of business transactions.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Ad-hoc analysis, reporting, and projects.

Staff Accountant Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience preferred but not required.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Effective communication both written and verbal.
  • Analytical skillset and mindset. Problem solving abilities to identify discrepancies as they occur.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment and be able to prioritize workload.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Ability to multitask (especially during the three-day month end close).
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to take ownership and pride in your work.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel & Word) is essential.
  • SAP & BPC experience is a plus but not required.
  • BlackLine experience is a plus but not required.
