Position Summary: The Business Development Officer(BDO)representsTriumph's Factoring Divisionin the local and regional markets in which they are assigned. TheBDO'sprimary responsibility is sourcing new supply chain finance (SCF) business through relationships that they establish via their own efforts. The secondary responsibility is to retain SCF clients by ensuring that they are highly satisfied with the ongoing development of the relationship. The BDO is expected to demonstrate the highest level of sales and professional abilities to ensure accuracy and precision of the sales and client retention process. BDOs earn commission based on the revenue generated by the accounts they fund.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for identifying prospects, developing an understanding of their needs and collecting information related to their current working capital requirements.
Responsible for selling factoring products to prospective Supply Chain Financing clients and presenting other Triumph products and services.
Responsible for maintaining client relationships to ensure their retention during competitive and during contract renewal period.
Contact prospective clients via leads generated through theBDO'sreferral sources and from prospect inquiries that come toTriumph (Factoring and Payments)from time to time, which are forwarded to theBDOfor pursuit.
Responsible for pricing new opportunities to optimize returns as well as pricing existing clients for growth, retention and to combat competitive pressures while meeting profit objectives.
Conduct initial client interviews for due diligence on prospectiveSCF clientsand prepare credit and underwriting submissions.
Negotiate pricing, terms and conditions with prospects and clients to earn their business.
Works closely with BDO Factoring Sales team, as needed, to maintain Supply Chain Finance client relationships during renewals and other key client events.
Continually search for new referral sources(bothpaid and notpaid)to further expandTriumph Factoring'sreferral network.
Continually obtain market and competitor intelligence and suggest new approaches when market conditions change or when competitors use new tactics.
Use customer relationship management(CRM)technology to maintain a database of client contacts, prospects and referral sources along with appropriate notes and data on sales activity.
Generates and provides various sales reports to management.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience & Education
The successful candidate will possess business operations experience and skills, leadership and management expertise, analytical and critical thinking skills, and attention to detail. Additionally, the ideal candidate should possess the following:
Bachelor's degree in business or related field.
5 years of direct, outside sales experience required, factoring sales preferred.
Formal sales training completion preferred.
Evidence of previous sales success and strong work ethic.
Possesses competence and understanding of financial products and services.

Must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time, including overnight stays, to meet at various client sites throughout the region along with the flexibility to travel on short notice.
