Job Description: Sales Intern

JOB OBJECTIVE: The Sales Intern will assist the Client Rep or Corporate Sales Rep with day-to-day tasks including customer interactions, promotional activities, vendor show set up, and lab and institute mapping. It will provide the intern with exposure to the business of biotechnology and enable the intern to learn about account management, the Promega product portfolio, navigating large academic and/or commercial accounts, and learn the basics of selling principles from the Client Rep or Corporate Sales Rep.

CORE DUTIES:

  1. Promptly respond to and/or triage inquiries from customers and colleagues, with consistent, readily available support from sales management and the appropriate overlay team members, to ensure customer satisfaction.
  1. Travel in the field as necessary to provide support for (not deliver) instrument demos, installations, seminars, presentations, and other miscellaneous customer visits.
  1. Use CRM and other internal databases to maintain appropriate notes.
  1. Work with appropriate overlays (SPM, SBU, SCMT, NAM, etc.) for alpha/beta testing opportunities as well as Marketing Campaigns (including webinars).
  1. Assist in additional projects/tasks as needed or assigned.
  1. Demonstrate inclusion through their own words and actions and is accountable for a safe workspace. Act with kindness, curiosity and respect for others.

  1. Understand and comply with ethical, legal and regulatory requirements applicable to our business.
  2. KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Pursuing bachelor's degree or higher in the life sciences (Molecular Biology, Cell Biology and/or Protein Biochemistry), having completed introductory biology courses and lab work.
  1. MS Office Proficiency.
  1. Ability to conduct online research.
  1. Independently motivated and works well with others.
  1. Excellent communication skills (oral/written).
  1. Excellent organizational skills.
  2. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Career interest in sales of life science consumables, instrumentation, and services.
