Tool and Die Maker I

Who we are looking for:

We are currently searching for a Tool and Die Maker I to be based out of Albuquerque, NM location. Reporting to the Production Manager, this person's primary focus will be to ensure all tooling is in good working condition and the ability to operate power equipment and tools.

What you'll do:



  • Clean, repair and perform maintenance on the tools needed for specific manufacturing equipment and machines.
  • Identify & permanently label all tooling. (Pins, bushings, sizing sleeves, end plates, & moons.
  • Record all tooling, bolts associated with tooling, and heat band dimensions for recording to excel spreadsheet.
  • Assist Manufacturing Support Engineer in workflow arrangement of tooling.
  • Assist with break down and cleaning of extrusion dies.
  • Assist production with maintaining acceptable levels of tank rubbers for all sizes of pipe.
  • Track data on tooling and fixtures for set-up and production optimization.
  • Monitoring tooling maintenance for correct preventative measures.
  • Assist in the assembly of new tools and machines.
  • Troubleshoot parts when samples or newer parts malfunction.
  • Assist in creating new tools for new processes or products.
  • Perform other day-to-day duties in a manufacturing environment, including maintenance and production.
  • Operate forklifts, hoists, cranes, power tools, and hand tools.


What you'll bring:



  • Minimum educational requirement is high school diploma, or equivalent.
  • Must have strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

  • Must be adaptable to changing priorities in a work environment with multiple competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events in a calm and logical manner.
  • Must follow safety rules and put safety ahead of shortcuts.
  • Must supply own hand tools and toolbox.
  • Must have experience with installation and repair of machinery.
  • Must have good understanding of basic math required for quick and accurate calculations.
  • Must be able to pay attention to detail, accuracy, time management, and organization.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $26.00/hr. Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
