(MTSI) is seeking a Flight Test Engineer SME in Eglin, FL This position is for a Flight Test Engineer / Weapon Systems Aircraft Integration Subject Matter Expert. The candidate will support the Armament Directorate Long-Range Systems Division (AFLCMC EBJ) Joint Air to Surface Standoff Missile (JASSM) program office. This position requires 100 percent in-person work at Eglin AFB, FL The candidate shall have extensive experience in integrating weapons with aircraft platforms. Responsibilities
As a Weapon Systems Integration SME you will: * Serve as a JASSM aircraft integration engineer, providing oversight of large weapon qualification, airworthiness certification, aircraft integration and testing efforts working collaboratively in a cross-functional IPT environment. * Communicate/interface with program office disciplines (systems engineering, contracting, finance, program managers, etc) along with external organizations to include prime contractor, other government test and aircraft program offices, to coordinate the integration activities from start of new variant concept development through weapon fielding and sustainment. * Develop, update, and maintain the Interface Control Document, define message traffic parameters, coordinate technical details with prime contractor, and ensure compliance by host platforms. * Author Interface Change Notices to update the ICD as software fixes are implemented and new capabilities are developed. * Provide weapon SME support at aircraft Software Integration Laboratory (SIL) events; review SIL test procedures prior to and review SIL reports after the test event. * Provides functional expertise and leadership to other Integrated Product Teams within Program Office. * Effectively communicate and interface with the prime contractor, sub-system suppliers, other government test and aircraft program offices, and other senior level Government stakeholders to meet program objectives. * Support JASSM ground and flight test events. * Advise and assist US government and other JASSM contractor test team members. * Assist development of Test & Evaluation strategies, master plans, test methodologies/techniques. * Act as JASSM Program Interface Manager on aircraft integration issues/concerns. * Serve as JASSM T&I Subject Matter Expert as required to best support EBJ * Support JASSM Enterprise Management meetings, Program Management Reviews, etc. * Brief operational testers, combat operators, staff members on JASSM capabilities. * Brief newcomers on JASSM 101 Orientation to JASSM Program Office. * Develop JASSM operational and test academics and training material.
Qualifications
* Minimum of 20 years of relevant experience. * Knowledge of and relevant experience with the aircraft integration of the Joint Air to Surface Standoff Missile (JASSM) is highly desired. * Shall have familiarity/mastery of MIL-STD-1760, MIL-STD-1553, UAI, and other USG interface languages and protocols * Candidate must have a strong ability to work with minimal oversight and have demonstrated leadership and customer interface skills. Additionally, the candidate must have good analytic skills, be capable of operating in a multi-tasking environment, and have strong verbal and written. Educational Requirements: * Required: Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, technical analysis, or a related field. * Desired: Master's degree in engineering, science, technical analysis, or a related field.
