The Load Planning Supervisor owns optimal planning of all Regional Delivery routes: outbound to customers, interfacility transfers, and inbound from vendors/suppliers. The Load Planning Supervisor is ultimately responsible for routing Customer Delivery Reps and Assets in a safe, cost-efficient manner. The Load Planning Supervisor partners with Customer Experience & Transportation Management team to drive On-time delivery >98%.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Utilize load planning technology to order, schedule, & sequence outbound shipments to customers
  • Collaborate with Transportation Managers and Dispatchers to make recommendations on type and quantity of trucks, trailers, Customer Delivery Reps
  • Execute on urgent, white glove shipments with a customer focused mindset
  • General awareness of DOT and hazmat regulations
  • Liaison between Operations, Customer Experience and Transportation Management team, ensuring customer satisfaction, monitoring & clearing orders on hold timely and effectively
  • Execute to high on-time service at least cost delivery
  • Analyze and advise on 3rd party routing to meet on-time delivery targets
  • Analytical mindset, aptitude in making data driven decisions
  • Understanding of multiple modes of transportation
  • Travel ~25% within Regional Delivery network
  • Other duties as assigned



Education:



  • High School Diploma or the equivalent


Experience and/or Training:



  • Minimum 2 years planning and/or dispatching experience


    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



    • Experience with Microsoft applications such as Outlook, Excel, Word
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to execute in a fast-paced environment
    • Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
    • Experience with route optimization tools



        Education:



        • Bachelor's in Transportation or Supply Chain Management


        Experience and/or Training:



        • Experience with Oracle/JDE a plus
        • Experience with route optimization systems, like Descartes, Ortec, Samsara a plus
        • 3rd party ELD and asset tracking systems
        • Experience in bulk transportation


        License/ Certification:



        • DOT Hazmat a plus


        Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



        • Analytical approach, using data to drive decisions


          Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this role, the Load Planning Supervisor is frequently required to sit at a desk for long periods. Must also be able to communicate effectively, talking and listening, typing, use handheld devices

          Mental Demands: Comprehend and follow instructions, perform assigned tasks, maintain an appropriate work pace, perform complex or varied tasks, relate to others, influence people, make decisions, direct, control, plan, interact with public or coworkers in written form, communicate orally, etc.

          Environmental Demands: Work is performed in an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but fast paced and energetic. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an individual encounters while performing the essential functions of this position.

          The anticipated hiring range for the role you are applying for is between $60,762 and $77,413 annually. This anticipated hiring range is based on several factors, and subject to increase based on the below:



          1. Experience and qualifications: The depth of relevant experience and specific skills you bring to the position.
          2. Education and certifications: Any additional qualifications that enhance your ability to succeed in the role.
