What You'll Do
Responsibilities
- Assist the Concrete Lab Manager with supervision of all activities related to the laboratories. Actively mentor and train lab staff.
- Promote safety and safety culture and ensure proper PPE is used. Assist with company required safety training.
- Assist with the coordination and schedule of work for Concrete laboratory technicians.
- Interpret test data and prepare reports and/or summaries of test data.
- Provide assistance to Project Managers, the Department Manager, and assist with administrative duties as needed.
- Calibration of concrete laboratory equipment and maintenance of calibration schedule and records.
- Assist with recruiting to maintain appropriate staff levels with collaboration and approval by your supervisor.
- Assist with inventory maintenance and organization of required supplies and equipment.
- Perform field and/or lab testing as needed.
- Participate in business development, marketing, and client development.
- Assist with compliance with corporate-level and office-specific Quality Management Systems (QMS) related policies and procedures; including adoption, implementation and enforcement.
- Assist with obtaining and maintaining appropriate concrete lab-testing related certifications by external certifying agencies for the defined scope; and also ensuring Concrete Lab Technicians obtain the same.
- Assist in maintaining an organized concrete lab in compliance with QA/QC initiatives and accreditation requirements.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of related experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- Strong oral & written communication skills
- Good understanding of laboratory tests on construction materials and the ability to evaluate the test results in terms of specification compliance
- Knowledge of test methods, ASTM standards, and laboratory equipment
- Basic ceritifcations per tech cert policy and necessary advanced certifications required
- Ability to interpret data and properly record collected information
- Dependable, self-motivated, responsible and detail-oriented
- Ability to work effectively with clients, peers and supervisors as well as independently
- Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Word and Excel
- Must be able to frequently lift 60-80 pounds
- Knowledge of ECS systems and procedures is a plus
- Basic knowledge of Quality Management Systems
- If driving for, or on behalf of, any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver's license is required
The expected pay range for this role and location is $27-$30/hour. The final agreed-upon compensation will be determined based on specific location and other individual qualifications.
