Job Summary

As a skilled Machinist, you will play a vital role in our manufacturing operation by setting up and operating various precision machinery, including saws, lathes, drills, milling machines, and grinders. Your expertise will ensure that both new tooling is created to meet design specifications and existing equipment is reliably repaired and rebuilt. This position requires a focus on safety and quality, as you will be tasked with lifting and loading raw materials, performing equipment repairs, and installing new components within the plant. Additionally, you may occasionally utilize acetylene torches and welding techniques to complete your projects. Primary Duties

In this full-time role, your primary duties will include:

  • Setting up and operating CNC machines and manual machines to manufacture parts according to detailed blueprints and specifications.
  • Utilizing precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers, dial indicators, and gauges, to verify that machined parts adhere to the required tolerances.
  • Demonstrating proficient hand/eye coordination to effectively manage automatic feed functions and ensure the smooth operation of various machinery.
  • Maintaining a safe and organized workspace by adhering strictly to safety protocols and company policies.
  • Collaborating with supervisors and engineering teams to troubleshoot machining issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Conducting routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Assisting in the training and mentoring of junior machinists, sharing knowledge and best practices to foster a positive learning environment.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following qualifications:

  • Exceptional hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity for operating machinery with precision.
  • A strong commitment to quality and safety, with a proactive approach to identifying potential hazards and addressing them.
  • Effective communication skills to interface with supervisors, engineers, and fellow team members, ensuring clear understanding of project requirements and specifications.
  • Good vision, both near and far, is essential to accurately set up and operate machinery to specified tolerances.
  • A solid understanding of mechanical concepts and the ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and schematics.
  • Prior experience in a machining environment is highly desirable, showcasing a proven track record of successful operations.
Education / Experience

To be considered for this Machinist position, candidates should have:

  • A High School diploma or equivalent. Vocational training in machining or relevant fields is a plus.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience operating precision machinery in a manufacturing environment.
