About the B.L.U.E. Summer Internship Program

Our B.L.U.E. (Build, Learn, Understand, Enrich) Summer Internship Program is purposefully designed to inspire your imagination and help you guide your career with purpose. You'll be an integral part of McKinstry with hands-on experience, mentorship, and a healthy dose of fun. Our program delivers depth and real experience so you can truly evaluate potential career paths within the work we do.

What We Look for in Our Social Impact Interns:

The Social Impact Intern will support McKinstry's efforts to advance diversity, equity, inclusion (DEI), community engagement, and workforce development by researching education and apprenticeship program models, evaluating partnership opportunities, and helping shape future talent pathways. This role also offers hands-on experience in project coordination, program development, communications, and strategic initiative support.

Responsibilities

* Conduct research on educational programs at schools and universities to evaluate partnership opportunities.

* Assess the viability of new and existing programs, including potential expansion of STEM mentorship beyond K-12.

* Research and analyze models for apprenticeship and post-high school programs.

* Evaluate opportunities to advance company goals and amplify existing community engagement initiatives in alignment with McKinstry's values.

* Support the planning and execution of company-wide DEI, community engagement and social impact initiatives.

* Communicate and engage with external partners and key internal stakeholders.

* Develop and build out potential concepts and proposals to advance company goals.

* Assist in the development of presentations, timelines, reports, and other collateral.

* Develop high-quality, polished written materials in alignment with brand and messaging standards.

* Take and distribute action-oriented meeting notes with minimal oversight.

* Monitor project timelines and ensure deliverables are met.

* Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.

* Support special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

* College Senior or higher standing preferred.

* Students (or educators) with training in educational systems, sociology, business administration, or program development preferred.

* Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with various stakeholders across geographies required.

* Resourceful and able to work independently to solve problems.

* Passion for education, youth engagement, and social responsibility required.

* Experience working with educational programs and youth engagement initiatives preferred.

* Experience with workforce development and community impact programs desired.

The hourly rate for this role is $22/hr
