Job Description

Provide oversight of the Nuclear Material Control and Accountability (MC&A) Programs at both Portsmouth and Paducah to assess compliance with applicable DOE Orders and ensure timely, appropriate reporting to the national system of accounting, Nuclear Materials Management and Safeguards System (NMMSS).

Assist PPPO with assessing MC&A Programs to assure implementations are cost effective and efficiently managed.

Participate in periodic, termination and special surveys, assessing contractor MC&A and NM protection programs. Establish survey planning, coordination, accomplishing critical examination and evaluation of contractor's performance, and providing appropriate documentation.

Assist PPPO Nuclear Material Management efforts by reviewing deliverables for the Nuclear Material Inventory Assessment, Nuclear Material Management Plan, and Nuclear Material Forecast and Allotment Reports.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's Degree is preferred. However, a combination of education and ten years of experience in nuclear material control and accountability, and material control and accountability training may substitute for the educational requirement. General knowledge of other Safeguards and Security related Orders is also preferred.

Must possess a DOE-Q security clearance. Requires specific experience and expertise in conducting oversight of contractors' programs established to maintain accountability and control of nuclear materials. These programs are maintained in compliance with DOE Order, Manual, and Technical Standard requirements or NRC licenses as applicable.

This position may require the ability to obtain a government clearance. This position may require reviews and test for absence of any illegal drugs along with a background investigation by the Federal government in order to obtain an access authorization prior to employment, and may require subsequent reinvestigations may be required.
