JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS Research Associate needed to oversee, manage, and complete project objectives for a statewide community-engaged research and education program aimed at preparing health and social services systems to address the health impacts of extreme heat, flooding, and worsening air quality among vulnerable populations. This role involves coordinating research, education, and outreach activities, ensuring alignment with project goals, and requires expertise in environmental health research and experience with community-engaged research.
Job Duties
Job duties include (not limited to):
- Identify training needs and resources for education based on survey findings.
- Curate and develop outreach materials for health professionals.
- Plan and facilitate online learning sessions and expand recruiting efforts.
- Coordinate and lead team meetings and working group sessions.
- Communicate regularly with project partners, including Penn State Program Partners, Community Program Partners, and collaborators.
- Co-create and disseminate a Stakeholder Action Plans.
- Prepare progress reports and project deliverables.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Team player able to work with faculty, research team members, and community groups, but also able to work independently to meet project deadlines.
- Strong professional and interpersonal communication skills, both written, verbal, and graphic; experience writing industry reports.
- Experience planning and facilitating Project ECHO
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience planning and executing community outreach programs and speaking in public to diverse audiences.
- Minimum 7-10 years of project management experience in healthcare, public health, or related fields.
- Experience with interdisciplinary team coordination and stakeholder engagement.
- Established relationships with the PA Association for Community Health Centers (PACSHC) and the PA Association of Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs)
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Experience in climate-related health initiatives directed at improving system and clinical knowledge and preparedness to address climate-related health issues.
- Knowledge of healthcare systems and services for vulnerable populations.
- Background in gerontology or rural sociology.
Compensation
