Florida International University, Communication Sciences & Disorders Department in the Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing and Health Sciences invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track, twelve-month Clinical Assistant Professor/Clinical Associate Professor position. The faculty member will be integral to the Master of Science program in Communication Sciences and Disorders on the FIU campus, specifically assuming the role of the Coordinator of Clinical Education (CCE). The CCE is responsible for planning, coordinating, facilitating, administering, and monitoring activities on behalf of the Department and in coordination with academic and clinical faculty relative to the clinical education component of the curriculum for the Master of Science program in Speech-Language Pathology (MS SLP). The faculty member will teach didactic clinical courses at the MS SLP level. Minimum qualifications include an earned clinical or research doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology, Speech and Hearing Sciences, or Communication Sciences and Disorders.

The unique focus of the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders is one of cultural and linguistic diversity (CLD) and bilingualism. The goal of the Department is to educate CLD professionals to meet the needs of multicultural individuals with communication disorders. The Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) accredits the Master of Science degree program in Speech-Language Pathology.

The mission of the Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing and Health Sciences is to teach, conduct research, and serve the community. NWCNHS prepares diverse healthcare professionals as providers and leaders in delivering high-quality, accessible, and culturally competent care within a highly technological and global environment. The College also promotes, expands, and validates scientific knowledge and evidence-based practice through interdisciplinary research.
