About the team
OpenAI's Go-To-Market (GTM) team partners with the world's most ambitious organizations to deploy frontier AI systems. We help customers build category-defining products, navigate complex technical integrations, and launch generative AI solutions that redefine what's possible.

About the role
We're hiring a GTM lead to drive how life sciences organizations deploy our models across critical workflows, from early-stage R&D to global trial execution. The role spans AI-native startups, mid-stage biotechs, CROs, and global pharmaceutical enterprises across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC/Japan.

You'll drive customer engagement and deployment in close partnership with Product, Engineering, Research, Security/GRC, and GTM. You'll adapt our approach across startup and enterprise environments, resolve infrastructure and compliance friction, and bring in external partners where needed. You'll turn early wins into scalable models and influence product and research direction using real-world feedback. Your success will be measured by time to value, customer outcomes, and the strength of our operating model across the segment.

This role is based in San Francisco. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees. This role also will require travel up to 30%.

In this role, you will:

  • Drive customer engagement and deployment in close partnership with cross-functional teams.

  • Develop tailored approaches for startups, biotech, pharma, and CROs, adapting to differences in decision speed, procurement process, infrastructure readiness, and team structure

  • Shape our approach to high-impact use cases, including clinical trial design, scientific authoring, biomarker discovery, and lab automation

  • Turn early customer wins into repeatable playbooks and scalable field workflows

  • Navigate procurement and validation processes in enterprise environments, including risk review, architecture clearance, and compliance planning

  • Resolve blockers across infrastructure, security, validation, and audit by coordinating with internal technical and governance teams

  • Prioritize accounts where product fit, readiness, and value justify focused engagement

  • Influence product and research priorities through field evidence, technical blockers, and customer constraints

You might thrive in this role if you:

  • Bring 8+ years of experience in regulated enterprise SaaS GTM and product roles, with deep domain expertise in biotech, pharma, clinical research, or scientific software

  • Have built trust with clinical, regulatory, and safety stakeholders by navigating compliance, risk, and delivery expectations

  • Have scoped or delivered AI systems used in trial design, safety narratives, regulatory writing, or scientific operations

  • Have partnered with researchers or technical leads to adapt deployment plans based on evolving model behavior or product gaps

  • Have worked in lean or zero-infra environments where product, security, and science were handled by one team

  • Communicate with clarity and polish across scientific, technical, and executive audiences

  • Combine systems thinking with high execution standards and a strong sense of ownership
