JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Technical Specialist oversees technical aspects of the area, providing the expertise required to maintain precise and accurate determinations. The Technical Specialist works in a daily, operational testing environment and is responsible for the researching of new tests within the specific areas of their expertise, the application of these tests, and the adoption to routine performance. Expectations include compliance with accreditation agencies which includes; the College of American Pathologists, Food and Drug Administration, FACT, Association for the Advancement of Blood and Biotherapies, New York State, Joint Commission, Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the Environmental Protection Agency, budget input, teaching, cost management related to Laboratory supplies and instrumentation, Laboratory test maintenance and Laboratory computer information systems maintenance.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science OR 4 year undergraduate degree with post baccalaureate certification in Clinical Laboratory Science, Master's Degree Pathologists' Assistant preferred OR Bachelor's Degree Pathologists' Assistant and certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathology, Histotechnologist certification for Histology and Cytotechnologist certification for Cytology.

EXPERIENCE:

Four years of clinical or anatomical laboratory experience or 3 years with master's degree or specialist certification

RELOCATION:

We are offering a relocation package of up to $9,200 for eligible candidates relocating more than 50 miles. Additional terms and conditions apply.
