Manages, directs and performs both professional and administrative duties associated with the operation of the Pharmacy as set forth by the hospital administration and the various state and federal agencies that have jurisdiction over the practice of Pharmacy at WVU Medicine.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1. Must possess current Registered Pharmacist license as required by the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy EXPERIENCE: 1. Completion of one of the following combinations of experience: Completion of a health-system pharmacy administration residency program AND 4 years of administrative experience, OR: Five years inpatient and/or health-system pharmacy administrative experience. PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1.Master's degree in related field. 2. Board Certification in a clinical pharmacy specialty EXPERIENCE: 1. 1 Year experience in retail pharmacy and knowledge of the 340B program. Utilizes key financial and productivity tools to manage and allocate resources of the department. 3. Identifies and works to rectify budget variances. 4. Develops talent and promotes the professional development of staff members. 5. Sets department culture to promote the safe, effective, rational and cost-effective use of medications. 6. Directs comprehensive drug distribution systems and clinical pharmacy services. 7. Complies with the Hospital Patient Safety Plan and reports serious events/incidents within the 24-hour time requirement. Complies with the Compliance Program and Compliance Code of Conduct, requiring adherence to all regulations, including privacy and information security regulations. Promptly reports all suspected violations of such programs or regulations. 8. Serves as secretary of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee 9. Serves as Pharmacy representative on various hospital & system committees. 10. Serves as the contact between the administration of the WVU School of Pharmacy and the pharmacy department. 11. Promote programs which stress cost-effectiveness while maintaining quality. 12. Participate in the department's administrative on-call system.
