Job Description

Position Purpose:

Drives trucks or tractors at vehicle parking or loading docking area in order to move, position or park trailers.

Essential Duties:



  • Drives trucks around dock area for Transportation Company or department


  • Spots (positions) loaded or unloaded trailers at assigned docks for unloading or loading using tractor


  • Connects loaded trailers to tractors for delivery drivers


  • Fuels tractors


  • Assists workers in loading and unloading truck and trailers


  • Maintains truck in proper working condition


  • Other duties, as assigned


Knowledge, Skills, Experience:



  • Able to read, write and speak English


  • Able to sit for 8 hours


  • Able to lift and carry 70lbs


  • Must have a valid and clear driving record


  • Must pass a DOT Physical


Education / Certifications:



  • High school diploma or equivalent

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. This position requires the wearing of Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) consisting of eye protection while on the production floor as well as hearing protection in designated areas.

  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, regularly exposed to noise levels in the work environment which are moderate to loud, and exposed to temperature ranging from moderate to high depending on the time of year and location of the work being done.
