How you will contribute:

  • Responsibilities include leading all aspects of deal execution including managing client relationships and completion of client deliverables
  • Advising clients on enhancing tax opportunities and managing tax risk associated with mergers and acquisitions, including post-acquisition actions
  • Analyzing tax risks of target companies using tax returns, accounting information, and interviews with management
  • Reviewing reports correlating tax due diligence and tax structuring findings
  • Identifying issues affecting purchase price, deal structure, or deal termination
  • Working closely with executives, investment bankers, private equity and corporate clients, attorneys, or other stakeholders
  • Leading, supervising, recruiting, and coaching team members providing tax transaction services to clients
  • Managing multiple concurrent engagements
  • Working alongside other Forvis Mazars team members to exceed client expectations

We are looking for people who have Forward Vision and:

  • Extensive analytical and project management skills, including the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with corporate and flow-through concepts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to develop and lead team members
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, primarily Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Willingness and ability to travel

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited college/university in accounting, taxation or related field with CPA license preferred or JD/LLM
  • Twelve (12) years or more of tax experience with a large public accounting or consulting firm with at least five (5) years or more of experience in Transaction Advisory Services / M&A Tax
  • Strong knowledge in U.S. Federal income tax, mergers and acquisitions and transaction services with current knowledge of state and local taxes preferred
  • Previous experience leading M&A tax engagement teams
  • Strong current knowledge in federal income tax, mergers and acquisitions, and transaction services

The salary for this role will be based on the experience, education, and skill set of the individual for the position. Positions that are non-exempt will be eligible for overtime pay compensable at a rate of one and a half times the hourly rate for any hours worked over 40 in a work week. Benefits are eligibility-based and could include group health plan benefits, 401(K), profit-sharing contributions, flexible time off, and parental leave.
