Role and Responsibilities: We're seeking a reliable and skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to support the upkeep of our building and grounds, helping ensure everything stays safe, functional, and well-maintained. If you enjoy hands-on work, pay attention to detail, and take pride in keeping things running smoothly, we'd love to hear from you.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of building systems, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, electrical wiring and fixtures, lighting, and mechanical equipment to ensure consistent and safe operations across the facility.
- Conduct regular inspections of the facility's infrastructure to detect wear, damage, or potential hazards early. This includes checking safety systems, utility lines, and structural components to proactively address issues before they escalate.
- Handle light construction and repair work, such as minor carpentry projects (e.g., door repairs, furniture assembly), drywall patching, and touch-up painting to maintain a clean and functional appearance throughout the building.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency calls, providing timely and effective solutions to minimize downtime and ensure the safety and comfort of all occupants.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all maintenance activities, including service logs, equipment manuals, inspection reports, and parts inventory.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and building codes, ensuring that all work is performed in compliance with local regulations and industry standards.
- Participate in safety training and emergency preparedness as required.
- Collaborate with external service providers and contractors for specialized repairs, installations, or large-scale maintenance projects.
- Coordinate schedules, oversee on-site work, and verify that services meet quality and compliance expectations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of two (2) years of hands-on experience in commercial maintenance or facilities operations.
- Basic understanding of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical components and repair techniques.
- Working knowledge of safety practices, building codes, and relevant regulations.
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or digital work order platforms.
- Basic understanding of fire, life safety, and security systems.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
Preferred Skills:
- Technical certification or trade school training in building maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, or electrical systems.
- Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Knowledge of energy-efficient practices and sustainability in building operations.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with staff, vendors, and supervisors professionally.
Physical & Environmental Demands:
- Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must use hand and power tools with precision and safety.
- Work may involve exposure to loud noise, dust, chemicals, and varying weather conditions.
- May be required to access confined spaces, rooftops, and mechanical areas.
- Occasional after-hours, weekend, or emergency response work may be necessary.
- Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and must be worn when required.
