$21.84 to $24.02 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Government Center/Viera. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Performs experienced technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, or software. Work involves serving as part of the Information Technology Department's Service Desk team providing user support and customer service on organization-supported computer applications and platforms, including building, maintaining, upgrading, and resolving reported desktop computing environment issues and/or requests. Work includes installing and troubleshooting personal computer hardware, peripherals, and software and advising users on appropriate corrective action to address potential issues. Work differs from that performed by an Information Systems Technician in the level of experience and education required along with a higher level of troubleshooting skills and the ability to coordinate with other functions within the IT Department and external offices in order to ensure continuity of effort.

REQUIREMENTS: Two (2) years [30 semester (45 quarter) hours = one (1) year] of college coursework at an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field PLUS two (2) years of experience in the fundamental operation of relevant software, hardware, and other equipment, and network connectivity, including related experience and training in troubleshooting and providing help desk customer service and support. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year for year basis. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment.In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
