Specifications are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job SUMMARY: The Senior Operations Manager acts as a key strategic support advisor to the Commercial Engagement Director, assisting with critical projects, providing strategic recommendations, and supporting key initiatives. This role involves managing administrative program support functions, facilitating communication between internal and external stakeholders, and supporting the Director's strategic objectives. The ideal candidate for this position is someone who is detail-oriented, has strong leadership skills, and can maintain focus on both the big picture and the operational details. They should thrive in a fast-paced environment and be comfortable handling complex and high-level strategic initiatives while maintaining a collaborative, team-oriented approach. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Strategic Planning: Assist the Commercial Engagement Director in the development of the team's long-term strategies. Coordinate and manage high-priority projects to ensure they align with organizational goals and timelines. * Cross Departmental Coordination & Communications: Work with stakeholders, including government agencies and various commercial partners in support of the Director's priorities to increase collaboration across the organization. Conduct communications coordination tasks and develop communications materials (speeches, * Project Management: Identify operational inefficiencies and propose solutions to improve organizational processes and workflows for the Director's review. Perform administrative duties, including the development of meeting support materials (agendas, action items, scheduling) and facilitate meetings in support of the Director Support the execution of special projects initiated by the Commercial Engagement Director, coordinating program management functions to ensure strategic objectives and deadlines are met. Coordinate project resources, support functions and administrative tasks according to the Director's priorities. * Program Support: Conduct data analysis to support the Commercial Engagement Director, including the development of strategic insights to support decision-making. Prepare reports and presentations as needed for meetings and project reporting requirements. Provide the Director with recommendations to address urgent mission-critical program issues and crises assisting with program risk assessment in collaboration with other key stakeholders. * Team Leadership Support: Assist the Director with ensuring that strategic objectives and priorities are effectively communicated and translated to team members. * Budget Planning Support: Assist the Director with budget planning in support of program objectives, to include preparing program support materials and presentations. * Culture & Organizational Alignment: Ensure that DIU culture and values are maintained throughout the team. Promote alignment between organizational priorities and day-to-day activities. NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Other job-related duties as assigned. Experience, Education, Skills and Abilities: * 5+ years of experience in senior management or leadership roles, with a background in project management, operations, or strategic planning.
