Physical Therapist lll (Pediatrics) Rehabilitative Services Full Time 84330BR Job Summary The Senior Staff Physical Therapist, the Physical Therapist III, reports to the Clinical Supervisor, Physical Therapy and provides both direct and indirect patient care services. The Senior Therapist works primarily pediatric patients and adolescent patients may also be treated. The Senior Therapist demonstrates a solid knowledge base within a wide range of diagnoses including general medicine, orthopedics, neurology, and cardiopulmonary in the adult and/or geriatric setting. Under general direction and within a specific therapy discipline, the Senior Therapist independently performs complex patient evaluations and therapeutic interventions; serves as a mentor to staff and consultant to other medical professionals in patient evaluations, therapeutic intervention planning and/or intervention requiring discipline specific skills. The Senior Therapist makes recommendations in patient care procedures, protocols, or programs related to the discipline specific areas, and instructs therapists and other medical professionals in the theory, application, and/or performance of discipline specific skills. While performing job duties, the Senior Therapist may also supervise support personnel as allowed by discipline specific State Practice Acts including Registered Physical Therapist Assistants and Rehabilitation Aides as well as P.T. and P.T.A. students. The Senior Therapist actively participates in departmental and organizational programs, including performance improvement activities, clinical education programs, and inservices and staff development activities.
