Location Site: Salem Hospital Main Campus Dept: SH Nutrition Services Admin Position Type: Full Time (40 Hours) Start time/ Shift/Schedule: 8:00 a.m. Your role with us: As the Nutritional Services Supervisor at Salem Hospital, you'll play a vital leadership role in ensuring high-quality food service operations that directly impact patient care and satisfaction. You'll oversee daily functions, address staffing and operational needs, manage training and scheduling, and support a team of associates, cooks, and food service workers. You'll do so by fostering clear communication, promoting collaboration, and setting high expectations, you will help drive service excellence across the department. Your ability to coach, resolve issues, and implement improvements ensures efficient, patient-centered service. Oversee Functional Area and Operations (30%)
Monitor daily operations with team lead (staffing, equipment, supplies).
Address issues raised by the lead.
Review special requests and project updates.
Communicate management updates to staff.
Investigate and review staff/customer complaints with the lead.
Participate in visual management boards and track improvements.
Ensure staff meet/exceed customer expectations.
Collaborate with other departments considering broader impact.
Manage scheduling, time cards, and training (LaborWorkx, time off, call-offs).
Develop training; onboard and engage new staff; establish expectations.
Communicate Effectively (20%)

Background/Expertise:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of two (2) years supervisory/lead experience required with food service operations experience preferred
- Must have Food Handler's certification within 30 days of hire
- Must have strong computer skills in order to manage patient food service systems (Computrition) and understanding of EMR (electronic medical record) as well as to complete data collection / analysis of patient services functions and individual staff members performance
- Must have a strong understanding of health care food service operations, specifically relative to special diets and current nutrition standards for a variety of patient populations - adults, pediatrics, geriatrics with various medical conditions
- Must be capable of performing medium-heavy physical work which includes, lifting, bending, reaching, stooping, pushing, stretching, and standing for long periods of time
