What you'll do

  • Observe and report equipment malfunctions to supervisor and/or service engineers
  • Performing proper care and cleaning of equipment
  • Demonstrates ability to use the Radiology Information System (Radiant) and PACS to identify patient exam history. Demonstrates ability to use the Hospital Information System (EPIC) to input procedure requests and charges
  • Adheres to Salem Hospital Imaging Department Medication Reconciliation protocol. Demonstrates ongoing competency in the processes involved in the operation of the Omnicell unit
  • Performs quality procedures in compliance with department's technical procedure manual or deviations as requested by the attending radiologist
  • Completes appropriate worksheets prior to case presentation to radiologist
  • Demonstrates an understanding of ALARA guidelines by strictly adhering to the Imaging Department's Radiation Safety policies and procedures
  • Initiates appropriate plan of care to address holistic, age-specific needs and reflect the patient's changing condition. Uses appropriate skills related to knowledge of specific age, needs, and behaviors when communicating with and treating patients
Background/experienceBachelors or Associates degree preferredCredentialed in radiography with ARRT requiredBasic Life Support required within 90 days or hireMust be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in MRI, OR the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (AMRIT)Must be licensed in Radiography with OBMI1 year experience as RT, RDMS or CNMT preferredMust be capable of operating state of the art MRI equipment and computer systems, film processors, and other technical supportive devicesMust have good interpersonal communication skills; appropriate manner, conduct and groomingMust have the ability to hold in confidence any information about patients, personnel or other information of a confidential nature
