- Master's degree in Learning Design, Instructional Technologies, or Instructional Design
- Five or more years of experience in instructional design
- Prior experience in developing both formative and summative assessments to measure learning outcomes; utilizing student feedback and data analytics to continuously update and enhance existing courses; leading training sessions for faculty on instructional technologies and best practices; technical support to faculty and students, including concise "how-to" videos and guides for immediate and future reference

Position Summary |
The Office of Academic and Faculty Affairs within the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (
CAES) at the University of Georgia invites applications for the position of Director of Online Learning and Educational Technologies. The position appointment will be full-time and reports to the Associate Dean of Academic and Faculty Affairs.
The Director of Online Learning and Educational Technologies will be responsible for working with faculty and campus staff to lead and manage educational technology programming, online course(s) and certificate development and robust suite of online educational programs, which may include: course(s); MS degree programs; technologies for online course delivery; supporting and developing hybrid learning; working closely with
CAES IT for instructional technology; ensuring the exemplary quality of online courses; ensuring all accreditation and regulatory requirements; aligning efforts with
CAES and departmental academic priorities, mission, branding, and institutional learning outcomes; collaborating with academic departments, faculty, and staff; knowledge of accessibility and
ADA requirements; facilitating and recommending related professional development for online faculty; and serving as the key point of contact and liaison with the
UGA Center for Online Learning. |

- Oversight of the distance learning program, learning management system, support staff, and budget.
- Liaison duties between online students and CAES departments and programs.
- Oversight of initial distance education training and continuing education for faculty.
- Facilitating development of online teaching (courses; MS degrees: certificates) in cooperation with faculty and/or departments.
- Training faculty/staff on fair use and copyright laws as they relate to online learning and course/certificate creation.
- Identifying and implementing best practices for distance learning pedagogy to ensure the quality and effectiveness, in addition to consistent delivery of courses, certificates, and MS degrees.
- Provide support to faculty through ongoing research on emerging technologies that may be adapted to distance learning course(s) and program development.
- Direct operations of CAES online programs (scheduling, student support, faculty coordination, scheduling, CAES-wide IT services, registrar, enrollment processing).

- Manage CAES's relationships and projects with third party service providers for online education programs and make recommendations as to the best partners for programming.
- Develop and implement strategic plans and policies for online learning, perform yearly program assessments, and provide ongoing budgetary analysis.
- Identify and research new online opportunities for the CAES and enhanced educational experiences for students relating to online programming.
- Collaborate with and advise CAES administration/department heads to ensure the following: the instructional quality of courses/programs; assessment of faculty teaching styles and use of appropriate pedagogy and andragogy; and identify areas of weakness in courses/programs and employ strategies for improvement.
- Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders; evaluate recruitment success; enhance the regional, national, and international reputation of CAES through collaboration with marketing and recruitment efforts.
