Description
One of our manufacturing clients seeking a strategic and hands-on Vice President of Human Resources to lead the transformation of their HR functions, with a strong emphasis on modernizing systems and streamlining processes. This individual will manage a small but dynamic team of four HR professionals and play a key role in aligning people operations with broader business goals.
Location: Must be located near Sylva, NC to be considered
Duration: Fulltime/direct hire
Pay Rate: $150-175k (Depending on experience)
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the modernization of HR systems and processes, including evaluating and implementing new HRIS platforms, digitalizing workflows, and enhancing data-driven decision-making.
  • Oversee all core HR functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation, compliance, and training/development.
  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of 4 HR staff to build a high-performing, service-oriented HR department.
  • Partner closely with leadership and department heads to align HR strategies with business objectives.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities by negotiating with benefits providers and HR service vendors, ensuring competitive pricing and maximizing value for the organization.
  • Drive change management and organizational development efforts in support of company growth and evolving workforce needs.
  • Maintain compliance with labor laws, safety regulations, and internal policies, especially in a manufacturing environment.
  • Build and support initiatives to improve culture, engagement, and retention across all levels of the workforce.
  • Develop and track HR metrics and KPIs, reporting progress to senior leadership.
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Proven track record in HR systems implementation and modernization projects.
  • Experience leading and developing HR teams.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, compliance, and workforce planning.
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in the manufacturing sector is highly preferred.
  • SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or similar certification is a plus.
