Job Description

Position Overview:

In support of our ongoing growth, we are looking for a Sr. Network Engineer to add to our Plex Cloud Operations department and our continuous improvement culture. As member of the Network & Firewall team you will be responsible for maintaining the networks of Plex's private and public cloud. We are looking for an engineer with the desire to leverage automation and infrastructure as code to help secure and scale our product while building resiliency and redundancy into all solutions.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Deploy public cloud (primarily Azure) and private cloud networks utilizing infrastructure as code.
  • Participate in the day-to-day operation of data center networks including hardware/software/public cloud support, training, and special projects
  • Project work including:
    • Structured cabling
    • Physical infrastructure lifecycle replacements
    • Network level security
    • Monitoring, alerting, and auto remediation
  • Provide network and remote connectivity hardware/software support for internal and external customers
  • Manage and troubleshoots highly available ISP circuits, BGP configurations, remote Data Center connectivity/WAN optimization and our customer SD WAN solution.
  • Perform root cause investigations and contribute to process/procedure documentation
  • Collaborate with Security teams to maintain security of data and access privileges
  • Maintain and expand NGFW rule base to ensure least access principal across public and private firewall zones
  • Research and evaluate new technologies related to computer networking, automation, and public clouds
  • Support existing infrastructure platforms to ensure stability, uptime, and security
  • Develop, improve, and maintain network and system monitoring solutions
  • Participate in on-call rotation

The Essentials - You Will Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required- we will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, not now or in the future, for this job opening

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

  • Typically requires 5+ years enterprise infrastructure experience
  • Hands on experience with Infrastructure as Code
  • Experience working with Azure DevOps or other similar code repository
  • Must be able to lift 40lbs, stand on a ladder for a long period of time, and crawl into tight spaces
  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems or related degree
  • Solutions experience; Silverpeak, Azure, Terraform, PRTG, Elastic, Cisco, Gigamon, Riverbed (packet capture appliances), Wireshark, Palo Alto, Jira, Confluence, Windows Server, Ubuntu, VMware, Observium, LibreNMS
