Title: ECAD Design Drafter Location: Torrance CA 90501 Duration: 3 months Shift Hrs: 1st shift Job description: This position participates in the design of complex, multilayer, mixed technology, high density, high power, electronic Printed Wiring Board (PWB) and Circuit Card Assemblies (CCA) that will become the products of client The incumbent will be required to design and produce final drawings and data including Schematics, Master Pattern, Bill Of Materials (BOM) and manufacturing data, developed and dependent on Schematic input, PWB layout input and developed independently or in conjunction with others. Work is generally reviewed by an engineer more senior than the incumbent. Must Have PCB/PWB development PWB design PWB Eng. NATURE AND SCOPE OF POSITION: This position reports to a Engineering Manager and works closely with Electronic Packaging Engineering and Electrical Design Engineering specialists. This individual will develop printed wiring board layouts and explore possible design approaches using established drawing knowledge with business design standards. The PWB Design Drafter will have the latitude to make design decisions which are often reviewed by engineers. The incumbent receives instructions on specific assignment objectives, features, and possible solutions. The incumbent is expected to be a self-starter, internally motivated and have the ability to communicate clearly with others to accomplish his/her tasks. The incumbent should seek technical direction if needed. Duties include component placement, routing, and management and control of printed wiring board design files in client's CM system. QUALIFICATIONS: Degree in a technical major plus a minimum of 10 years of proven design and drafting experience in Printed Wiring board and/or Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs) layout using Cadence Allegro or similar tools and Commercial standards and specifications. To fulfill the demands of design and development of new products, this position requires self starting instincts. Communication skills suitable for effective oral and written dealings with the engineering staff, customers and vendors are required. He/She must have a comprehensive knowledge of good design and drafting practices, as well as techniques a software and tools. Advanced experience and knowledge in utilization of Ocad Schematic Entry and Cadence Allegro PWB is required. ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1. Translation of requirements emanating from a variety of sources used to generate Schematics, Netlists, PWB 3D/Solid models, layouts and detailed engineering drawings as well as supporting electronic data for PWB fabrication. 2. In conjunction with Engineering, insures that the detailed integrity of Schematic, PWB layout, BOM and Manages PWB and CCA design requirements. 3. Create and check detail drawings for completeness and accuracy, insures the parts list in client's PLM (TeamCenter System) is accurate and complete. 4. Suggests or specifies (for non critical situations) materials to conform to design. 5. Represent Moog in a manner consistent with its technical reputation. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION: An Associate's Degree in CAD or Engineering or Envineering technology with 10 years of proven design experience. Knowledge of PWB design, stack-up, materials, and PWB technology and processing. Experience in high speed digital, analog, and mixed-signal PWB layout and routing design. PWB layout design experience using Cadence Alegro tool suite.
