Michigan Technological University's College of Business invites applicants for an Assistant Teaching Professor in Accounting.
The position requires the teaching of undergraduate and graduate courses in accounting/taxation, as well as maintaining a faculty status per AACSB standards (Scholarly Academic, Practice Academic, Scholarly Practitioner, Instructional Practitioner). The successful candidate will demonstrate teaching experience and/or expertise in taxation. Teaching experience in financial statement analysis and some background in assessment of learning are also highly desirable. A Masters degree is acceptable, while PhD, or JD, and candidates near completion of their PhD (ABD) are also encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities
|
Teaching undergraduate and graduate accounting courses, maintaining a faculty status per AACSB standards, and significant involvement with teaching-focused service, including the management of assessment of learning activities at the College and contributing to activities that support the mission of growing the program.
Employees are expected to integrate safety practices into daily activities and commit to learning about continuous improvement strategies and applying them to everyday work.

Required Education, Certifications, Licensures
|
Master's degree in accounting or taxation.
|
Required Experience
|
Teaching experience and/or experience in taxation.
|
Desirable Education and/or Experience
|
Ph.D. in Accounting or a related field or a J.D. CPA, CMA, and/or other professional certification. Two or more years of teaching experience.
|

|
Ability to teach in both in-person and online modalities.

Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities
|
Ability to teach in several areas of accounting Demonstrated success in, or potential future contributions to, working with persons with a wide variety of personal characteristics and viewpoints.
