GENERAL SUMMARY: Internship with the Henry Ford Medical Group Department of Ophthalmology. This is a Student Intern position that is focused on project management. Primary projects will relate to department budgeting as well as evaluation of operational staffing. Reports to the department Director PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The intern will be working closely with health care professionals to solve problems with creativity and enthusiasm. You'll be working on impactful projects and learning from mentors along the way. We'll help you grow your professional skills and gain experience working in healthcare administration. During the program, you will: Do real work! Gain an understanding of healthcare administration-particularly in the operations of a large multispecialty medical group. Receive mentorship and gain exposure with HFMG senior leaders. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Must be enrolled in a 4-year undergraduate program in business/health administration, or a 2-year graduate program in business/health administration. Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word). CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: None required. Must meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards and behaviors as outlined in the HFHS' Customer Service Policy Must practice the customer skills as provided through on-going training and in-services. PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office environment with minimal exposure to noise, dust, or extreme temperatures.
