Overview

RN Clinic

Full-Time; FTE 1.0

Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

The Registered Nurse (Clinic) is supervised by the department manager and provides care to clients utilizing the Robert Young Center principles of Trauma Informed Care. The Registered Nurse (RN) serves as a member of the Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACT) and provides case management services to severely mentally ill adults. These services include but are not limited to assessments, treatment planning, supportive counseling, medication monitoring, and linkage with various community resources.


Responsibilities
  • Uses the nursing process to deliver high quality care appropriate to the age and educational level of the client.
  • Collects and synthesizes comprehensive health data that are pertinent to the healthcare consumer's health and/or situation.
  • Develops a plan to attain expected outcomes.
  • Analyzes the assessment data to determine diagnoses, problems, and areas of focus for care and treatment, including level of risk.
  • Implements a specified plan: Coordinates care delivery, employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment; uses knowledge of pharmacological, biological and complimentary interventions to restore health and prevent further disability; provides structure and maintains a safe therapeutic recovery oriented environment; uses the therapeutic relationship and counseling interventions to assist health care consumers.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree is preferred.

Experience:

  • Two years' experience working with the chronically mentally ill.

License(s)/Certification(s):

  • RN licensure in the state of Iowa
  • Valid Driver's license.
  • RN licensure in the state of Illinois is preferred
