Job Description: About the Position Boart Longyear is currently hiring three experienced CNC Lathe Operators to join our manufacturing team. We are looking for one operator on 1st shift and two operators on 2nd shift. This is an excellent opportunity to work with advanced CNC equipment in a clean, safety-focused, and team-oriented environment. Shift Availability: 1st Shift: 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Monday-Thursday) 2nd Shift: 4:00 PM - 2:30 AM (Monday-Thursday) Candidates hired for 2nd shift will receive up to 2 months of training on the 1st shift schedule before transitioning to their regular shift. Overtime on Fridays may be required as business demands Key Responsibilities Operate CNC lathes to produce high-quality drill rod components Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings Load programs and make adjustments using G-code and M-code Monitor machining operations and make real-time adjustments for accuracy Change tools and cutting inserts as needed Measure parts using calipers, micrometers, and thread gauges Change robot grippers when switching between rod sizes Safely operate forklifts to move materials within the facility Strap and package finished products for shipment Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Collaborate with Maintenance and Quality teams as necessary Required Qualifications 2-5 years of hands-on experience operating CNC lathes Ability to read blueprints and machine drawings Proficient with precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges) Familiar with G&M code and CNC machine controls Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail Physically capable of lifting up to 40 lbs and standing for extended periods Reliable work ethic and consistent attendance Ability to follow safety procedures and work well in a small team Preferred Qualifications Experience operating robotic systems or automated machining cells Forklift certification or experience (training provided) Prior work with threading operations Experience with strapping and packaging processes Basic troubleshooting skills in a machining environment Work Environment Fast-paced manufacturing floor with exposure to machine noise, cutting fluids, and metal shavings Will require wearing personal protective equipment including safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots Compensation, Benefits and Perks Talented people are attracted to companies with long-term success and a supportive workplace culture that encourages work-life balance.
