Responsibilities

Lynn Leonard & Associates, insurance staff counsel for State Farm Insurance companies, is seeking paralegals to join our growing Atlanta GA office in January of 2025. Qualified candidates will have the ability to work independently, communicate effectively, and the ability to prioritize workload in a time sensitive environment. Recent experience as a paralegal in insurance defense or personal injury is a competitive advantage. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, supporting at least two litigation attorneys with discovery responses, obtaining and sending documents to experts for review, medical summaries, and trial preparation. Hours for this position are 8:30 A.M.-5:00 P.M., Monday-Friday. For a successful work environment, you will be asked to have a reliable source of internet for your time working from home or virtually. The position is classified as a hybrid role, meaning that the work arrangement calls for hours in the office and virtually. Work arrangements could change over time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Previous Experience preferred:

  • Recent paralegal civil litigation experience in insurance defense or personal injury is preferred
  • Candidates with medical malpractice and worker's compensation experience will be considered
  • Experience reviewing medical records and completing medical summaries, or experience in the medical industry is a competitive advantage
  • Background in drafting discovery responses, trial preparation, and drafting motions/pleadings is a competitive advantage
  • Familiarity with Civil Court Rules and Procedures is ideal

Key Skills required:

  • Strong organizational skills, ability to work independently, prioritize workload, multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and communicate effectively
  • Strong written communication skills, attention to detail

Technology/software experience:

  • Strong software/technical skills required
  • Working knowledge of a Case Management system preferred
  • Working Knowledge of a Document Storage system preferred

Education requirements including licensing and certifications:

  • Prior litigation or paralegal experience, paralegal degree/certificate/certification, medical training, or relevant coursework or legal studies degree is preferred

  • Potential starting salary range: $55,000.00-$85,000.00
    • Starting salary will be based on skills, background, and experience
    • High end of the range limited to applicants with significant relevant experience
  • Potential yearly incentive pay up to 15% of base salary (results may vary year to year).
