Your Role at Baxter This individual will lead the development, deployment and maintenance of Distributed Operations environmental, health, safety and sustainability (EHSS) strategy, policies, procedures and programs. Ensure that distributed offices, technical services, R&D and P&F facility locations are following applicable Federal, State and local laws and fulfillment of all business operations and Baxter Corporate EHSS objectives. Strong problem solving, critical thinking, and influencing skills are necessary. EHS Manager will supervise EHS Staff. What you'll be doing
Develop, implement, and manage all environmental, health, safety and sustainability (EHS) compliance policies and programs. Develop and maintain Strategy, Goals, Targets and Key Performance indicators for all EHSS programs as appropriate Negotiate and develop EHSS related service contracts Develops relationships with key functions (e.g. HR, operations, engineering, facilities) to ensure EHSS aspects are considered at the beginning of new/changing operations and drives improvement to existing EHSS methods and techniques Proactively identify EHSS hazards and risks through various means such as risk assessments, job hazard analysis, Gemba Walks, inspections and drive timely corrective actions. Lead and direct the investigation of all EHS related events including injuries and environmental events and facilitate the root cause analysis and the associated corrective actions. Develop, maintain and manage emergency response plans and response for chemical spills, natural disasters, other emergencies and conduct related drills and training Provide or facilitate the specialized training to Baxter employees and contractors, as appropriate. Prepare and/or facilitate the completion of agency, corporate and divisional reporting and maintain compliance with permits. Lead and develop the site EHSS Governance teams (Emergency Response Team, Safety Committee, etc.) Accomplishes EHSS results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching and counseling; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures. Coordinate to improve fleet / transportation safety and supply chain operations. Evaluate and act upon new EHS regulations. Effectively interfaces with all levels of employees to include direct labor through senior management, and influences improvement. Champion wellness program outcomes Work with Corporate EHS function to support and execute all EHS projects and programs on time and in full. Responsible for EHS facility related and department budget and expenses.
What you'll bring
Bachelor's Degree in Environmental, Safety, Engineering or related field required with a minimum of 5-7 years' experience in Environmental, Health and Safety or Industrial Hygiene fields with specific concentration in EPA, OSHA and DOT regulations. Professional certifications in the environmental or safety field (i.e. CHMM, CSP, or CIH) preferred Must be knowledgeable in EPA, OSHA, and DOT regulations Ability to read and interpret documents such as Corporate Policies, operating and maintenance instructions, Regulations and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Must have deep knowledge of EPA, OSHA, and DOT regulations and experience with executing specific requirements. Proven ability to develop and execute short and long-term strategic plans. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a multi-site setting Must have excellent written, verbal and presentation skills. Process knowledge of related equipment and processes Ability to problem-solve and resolve technical difficulties. Must be able to influence at all levels and across functional lines. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to use enterprise software Must be able to flex schedule to accommodate training programs and investigations on off-shifts

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $104,000 - $143,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
