The Opportunity:

UCF's Research, Centers and Institutes and Burnett Honors College Human Resources Business Center (HRBC) is currently accepting applications for a Human Resources Coordinator I to join their team!

The Human Resources Coordinator I provides direct HR support for managers and employees in delivering HR services using a working knowledge of all applicable policies and procedures and leveraging Workday to complete transactions and works with hiring managers or other stakeholders providing customer service and fielding questions, escalating to HR Partner or Director, as needed.

Responsibilities:


  • First point of contact to submit recruitment for Staff/OPS/Students/GRA/Adjuncts/Post Docs positions. This includes submitting requisition requests, setting up interviews, preparing interview packets, coordinating with applicant and hiring manager(s), interview, hire, and follow through to first day onboarding and ensuring all new hire paperwork has been completed. Advises managers on HR policies and procedures.

  • Processes HR transactions such as position changes, reclassification or other employment or pay changes in Workday.

  • Collects 90 day, probationary and annual performance appraisals from supervisors, reviews for completion and processes in Workday.

  • Participates in engagement events and programs. This can include set up and tear down or ordering of supplies as directed by HR Partner or Director.

  • Reviews HR dashboard frequently to ensure compliance and initiate employee changes or terminations as needed.

  • Maintains division organization charts and the employee directory.

  • Ensures record keeping is in compliance and appropriate documents are uploaded or saved on shared drive and follows all HRBC and/or UCF policies and procedures.

  • Provides timekeeping assistance to staff and managers, to include adding/correcting time, sending reminders and escalating overpayments/underpayments or any other concern to supervisor.

  • Collects and updates transcripts for new hires and current employees.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or Equivalent and 0+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • At least one year of experience in human resources, administrative support, or coordinator roles, preferably in a university or similar setting.

  • Ability to leverage technology and computer systems to support, configure, run reports, enter data, and process information with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Experience with Workday, PeopleSoft, or other similar systems is highly desirable.

  • Prior experience in a customer service-oriented role with the ability to interact professionally and provide courteous responses to inquiries from students, faculty, and partners.

  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to identify alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

  • Familiarity with meeting coordination, event planning, and scheduling.

  • Experience partnering with other departments, such as Talent Acquisition, IT, and Accounting, on critical needs and complex issues.

  • Able to maintain strict confidentiality pertaining to sensitive information.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

  • Bachelor's degree or related HR Certificate preferred.


Special Instructions to the Applicants:

This position is currently hybrid, with most days remote and occasional in office days as needed, for new hire paperwork, staff meetings or events. This arrangement is subject to change in accordance with future updates to university policy.
