INTERN - TECHNICAL PROGRAM MGMT

Description

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Technical Program Management Intern to assist in the planning, execution, and delivery of critical technical initiatives. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams-including program management, systems engineering, and operations-to drive project success. This internship provides hands-on experience in program management, where you will support the development of project roadmaps, track engineering milestones, manage financial aspects, monitor deliverables, and ensure alignment across teams.

The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, technical aptitude, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This internship provides a unique opportunity to develop leadership skills, enhance problem-solving abilities, and contribute to impactful projects within our organization.

The Technical Program Management Intern will report directly to the Chief Engineer of the JLCCTC program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Assist in planning and coordinating technical projects from initiation to completion.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and business teams to ensure timely delivery of milestones.
  • Track project progress, identify risks, and provide status updates to stakeholders.
  • Support documentation efforts, including project plans, roadmaps, and meeting notes.
  • Analyze data and metrics to drive informed decision-making.
  • Help improve project management processes and tools to increase efficiency.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Must Have/Core requirements to qualify; include in lieu of degree description



  • Due to the nature of work performed, U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Ability to obtain a DoD clearance.
  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Basic understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies is a plus.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, BitBucket) is a bonus.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Above the minimum qualifications, that would be qualifications above and beyond what is required to meet essential duties and minimum qualifications. (Hiring against Essential Duties and Min Qualifications)



  • Experience with agile methodologies and familiarity with project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, BitBucket.
  • Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and engineering processes.
  • Prior experience in technical program management, engineering projects, or business operations through internships, coursework, or personal projects.
  • Ability to analyze data and metrics to support decision-making and process improvements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, or other data analysis tools for financial and project tracking.
  • Knowledge of risk management principles and issue resolution strategies.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams.
