The Opportunity:

The UCF Student Success and Well-Being (SSWB) Office of Student Care Services is currently accepting applications for an Assistant Director of Student Care Services. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide care management coordination that reduces barriers to student success and well-being. The position will oversee the food, housing, and financial insecurity processes, ensuring a seamless and efficient process. The Assistant Director oversees campus and community referrals and partnerships with SSWB Units, local shelters, food pantries, and community partners to maintain readily available resources for students. This position also supports the DCF liaison for former foster care youth and homeless youth.

Responsibilities:


  • Oversees processes and procedures for students experiencing financial distress, including co-chairing the Knights Emergency Fund and University Homeless Student Committee.

  • Coordinates educational and outreach support programs related to homelessness and financial crises.

  • Works closely with campus partners to assist students facing food, shelter and financial insecurity.

  • Works closely with local shelters, food pantries and community partners to maintain readily available resources for students in need.

  • Coordinates and oversees a caseload of moderate to high-risk students.

  • Conducts outreach efforts directed at students, faculty, and staff regarding the Student of Concern reporting process, university resources, and working with distressed students.

  • Tracks the success of students each semester.

  • Maintains a directory of community resources available to students.

  • Acts as a community liaison by building consistent and relevant off-campus partnerships to assist students with social services needs, including, but not limited to, facilitating access to medical care, off-campus housing, and financial assistance.

  • Maintains partnerships with Student Financial Assistance, Student Account Services, UCF Foundation, Dining Services, apartment complex managers, and external campus partners to provide financial support to students in distress.

  • Reviews, gathers, and analyzes data that supports the department's monthly report, annual report, and institutional effectiveness plan.

  • Assists with managing situations such as student death, natural disasters, and post-intervention under the supervisor's guidance.

  • Supervises one full time Student Care Coordinator I position and undergraduate social work interns.

  • Participates in division and university committees as required.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Assistant Dean of Students, Director of Student Care Services, or their designee.


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's and 4+ years of relevant experience or Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience with at least 1+ year(s) of leadership experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Master's degree.

  • Student-facing experience in higher education or secondary education.
