Medical-Surgical - Infectious Disease

Common diagnoses in the Infectious Disease Unit include cellulitis, sepsis, HIV/AIDS, pneumonia, osteomyelitis, infected ulcers and any other fungal, bacterial and viral infections. This 23-bed unit hosts 12 negative pressure rooms and treats patients 15 years and older. The staff specialize in caring for special pathogens including MERS and multi-drug resistant organisms. Nursing assistants on this unit develop many skills by caring for patients with complex medical conditions.
