Responsibilities:

The Maintenance Foreman is responsible for overseeing maintenance operations, ensuring the efficient functioning of equipment, facilities, and personnel. This role involves supervising maintenance workers, scheduling repairs, conducting inspections, and maintaining safety and compliance standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, coordinate, and assign tasks to maintenance staff.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment and facilities.
  • Receives instructions from management and assigns duties as required for Maintenance Department.
  • Ensures the Department Safety Policies are followed and reports any unsafe practices or conditions to immediate Supervisors in a timely manner for corrections.
  • Monitors immediate staff activities within the department.
  • Assist in the Training of maintenance staff.
  • Assist Maintenance department and/or outside equipment technicians when maintenance or servicing occurs, that affect the operational performance of all production departments, process and facilities equipment.
  • Assists and provides input when employee performances are reviewed.
  • Maintain records of maintenance work, repairs, and inventory of supplies.
  • Applies some advance skills/knowledge often to adapt procedures and techniques that meet more complex needs.
  • Participants and gives input on hiring, investigations, disciplinary actions, and terminations for scope of responsibility.
  • Ability to apply a broad range of knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures with little to no supervision.
  • Coordinate with other departments to schedule maintenance work without disrupting operations.
  • Ensure that tools, machinery, and workspaces are properly maintained.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred. A minimum of 10years of mechanic experience. Previous experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, etc. Also, needs to have rigging experience.
  • Required to have a minimum of 10 years' experience.
  • Ability to use effective communication methods. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to listen and comprehend instructions accurately.
  • Strong mathematical skills with some blueprint and schematic reading skills.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills with results oriented in customer service management. In addition, must be a strong communicator and can take the initiative to function without day-to-day guidance.

Vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, peripheral, and color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Ability for extended concentration.
  • In performing the duties for this job, the employee will generally work in a shop or perform work in outside weather conditions (occasionally near job sites with moving vehicles and mechanical operations). Will be occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level is usually moderate. Travel by automobile and airplane required.
