Cape Fox subsidiary Eagle Health, LLC is accepting resumes for a Bacterial Core Technical Supportto support the members at Ft. Detrick, Maryland. This position is contingent upon contract award. Incumbents are encouraged to apply! Responsibilities:
- Responsible for BSL-3 laboratory operations and training in animal manipulations
- Perform in vitro Minimum Inhibition Concentration (MIC) testing of potential therapeutic compounds against Tier 1 bacteria. We currently utilize 30-strain diversity sets of Bacillus anthracis (anthrax), Yersinia pestis (plague), Francisella tularensis (tularemia), Burkholderia mallei (glanders), and Burkholderia pseudomallei (meliodosis). 72 compounds were tested on each of the 30 strains, in vitro. With each of these compounds, final reports were sent to the companies as well as to the funding agency. Assist PI in preparing and writing 17 customer reports assist PI with writing 2 animal protocols.
- Participate in two small animal BSL-2 PK and toxicology studies, which include preparation of antibiotics for administration, administering drugs and vaccines, orally and by intraperitoneal injections. Upon execution of the experiment, employee performed animal health exams to ensure study was in compliance with IACUC approved protocols.
- Participate in weekly lab meetings and assist in development and design with current and future in vitro and in vivo work.
- Assist with data collection and analysis for approximately 11 posters for presentation. May be requested to present posters at approximately 3 different scientific conferences which may require work to be performed outside normal business hours.
- Provide review of relevant literature monthly.
- Serve as assistant suite supervisor, weekly.
- Assist PI with Project Planning, quarterly.
- Participate in training new personnel on laboratory tasks, monthly.
- Perform BSAT Inventory Management weekly.
- Conduct Equipment Inventory Management twice a year in BSL-2 and BSL-3.
- Perform monthly Laboratory Management to include safety functions and chemical inventory.
- Assists in establishing ~28 new active material transfer agreements and cooperative research and development agreements with 8 pharmaceutical companies/ universities. Maintain records of active agreements and collaborations.
- Provide 1 Core Therapeutics Technical monthly report to TPOC by the last working day of the month. Report will include materials and methods, data and data analysis and should be updated monthly. There should be Core Therapeutics section in the Technical report.
- Maintain a GLP training folder and be compliant with all GLP regulations when applicable.
- CS-PRP enrollment is required and will be held and maintained IAW the provisions in this contract and all applicable regulations.
- BPRP enrollment is required and will be held and maintained IAW the provisions in this contract and all applicable regulations.
