This defined retirement benefit requires a 12.27% monthly contribution rate and includes a 100% employer match on Day 1 Learn more at Work With Us \| Maricopa County, AZ We Require Three years of professional library experience Master's Degree in Library Science from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited school We Also Value Supervisory and/or lead experience Public library experience Bilingual in Spanish and English Job Contributions Manages the operations of a small branch library Develops staff and branch goals, monitors performance, coaches/counsels, and evaluates staff Provides exceptional customer service to internal and external customers using the Library District's Great Expectations customer service model Works at the customer service desk, answers questions, provides readers' advisory, and responds to customer concerns Schedules staff for work shifts and at the customer service desk Monitors branch budget for part-time staff and supplies Oversees maintenance, safety, and security of the branch, working closely with town and Library District Facilities Management to oversee any building renovations, additions, and furniture purchasing and arrangement Identifies needs and provides recommendations for improving branch operations Maintains a vibrant and attractive collection by employing merchandising techniques, presenting engaging displays, and following adopted collection maintenance practices Implements, monitors, and reports statistical analyses, including results of strategic initiatives developed for the Library District Plans and conducts programs for the public Promotes Library District products and material types for use by customers Conducts interviews and makes recommendations for hiring staff Working Conditions Position is typically office or administrative work and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions Ability to exert up to 20 lbs. occasionally, 10 lbs. frequently, or negligible amounts constantly and requires walking/standing to a significant degree Selection Procedure Only the most qualified candidates will be considered Consideration will only be given to candidates who submit online applications Candidates will be contacted primarily through email and their Workday online application profile Must pass a pre-employment background and/or fingerprint investigation as required by statute or policy, including drug and alcohol testing requirements for positions designated as safety-sensitive Maricopa County is an equal opportunity employer.
