Primary Purpose of the Position |
Full-time, 9-month clinical faculty position. Responsibilities include teaching, scholarship, and service. Teaching loads are generally 12 semester hours per semester, primarily in the areas of Immunohematology and Immunology-service through curriculum development, academic advisement, departmental, and university committee work. |

Department Required Skills |
The
MLS Department seeks candidates with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and the ability to effectively engage students using a variety of educational technologies. The successful candidate will advise and support
MLT-
MLS distance learning track students and participate in the department's service and research initiatives. Candidates must show dedication to liberal education, medical laboratory science, and their own professional development. Participation in professional and interprofessional organizations and conferences is expected.
Required qualifications and skills include:
- A minimum of a master's degree in medical laboratory science or health-related field, or higher education from an accredited institution.
- Current national certification in medical laboratory science, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology.
- Association of College and University Educators (ACUE) certification in teaching practices.
- At least three years of work experience in medical laboratory science and one year of teaching experience, including hybrid or online formats, at the college or university level.
- Proficiency in test construction, statistical analysis, and instructional reinforcement to support student learning outcomes.
- Effective communication and assessment skills, with the ability to mentor and support learners in academic and professional development.

- Masters degree from a regionally accredited institution is required.
- Minimum of 5 years in professional experience and/or teaching in higher education is required.
- Preference given to candidates with doctorate education. Evidence of ability to engage in scholarship.
- Preference to candidates who demonstrate proficiency in Canvas or other distance learning tools.
- Evidence of ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to accomplish departmental and university goals.

- Counseling students on academic matters and helping to create a student-centered environment, while assisting with clinical coordination for students - 25%
