This is a 1st shift position: 5:00am-3:30pm (Monday-Thursday)

Overall Summary

Manage all aspects of lean value stream and traditional manufacturing product lines and shifts. Drive cost improvement and process excellence initiatives by collaborating with across multiple departments and teams, and lead cross functional projects in order to support business strategy and company performance objectives. Look for opportunity to find operational efficiency across the manufacturing environment. Mentor direct reports to further develop the skills required for their job functions. Interface with engineering, production, quality, scheduling, accounting, and corporate work teams to facilitate manufacturing operation. Execute management of a production area through supervisors to the shop floor across multiple shifts.

Your duties will include:

Must display and maintain a high level of proficiency in the activities below:



  1. This role is responsible for directing operations programs and projects in support of the business strategy and performance objectives
  2. Manage the company Cost Improvement Program, including analyzing cost data to identify and implement improvement opportunities
  3. Collaborate with Cost Accounting & Inventory Management to improve inventory performance, including driving commercial initiatives to reduce inventory reserves
  4. Partner with teams from procurement, planning, distribution, manufacturing, engineering, regulatory, quality, packaging, etc. to maintain alignment across all functions in driving business results
  5. Supervise multiple product lines throughout their value streams.
  6. Competently plan, organize, and direct manufacturing operations to a defined budget.
  7. Maintain and improve manpower utilization to maximize employee efficiencies.
  8. Set goals and objectives, measure progress, and strive for a continuous improvement culture.
  9. Develop and train both exempt and non-exempt employees, as well as conduct personnel reviews.
  10. Enforce the company procedures and personnel policies through a consistent application of principles, while maintaining a robust training program.
  11. Understand and adhere to FDA, GMP and ISO requirements.
  12. Fill in for the Director of Manufacturing in his or her absence.

About You

Licensure, Registration and/or Certification




  • Relevant professional certification preferred, e.g. PMP, CPIM, CSSBB.

  • Lean, Six Sigma certifications.



YOUR EDUCATION

Required: Bachelor's degree in Operations, Business Leadership or related field required

Preferred: Master's degree in Project Management, Leadership, Operations or similar field or MBA highly preferred. Lean/Six Sigma and PMP Certifications preferred.

YOUR EXPERIENCE



  • 5+ years' experience leading operations projects (in the medical devices industry highly preferred)
  • Manufacturing experience in some or all the following disciplines a plus: medical device manufacturing, foundry, CNC machining, metal finishing, cleaning of metals / plastics, packaging, quality.
  • Training and/or experience in the following is preferred: GMP, GD&T, lean manufacturing, mainframe computer systems, Microsoft office applications.
