POSITION OVERVIEW

The Vice President: Advocacy is a member of InVision's Executive Leadership team responsible for developing and overseeing the implementation of the organization's lobbying, fundraising and communications strategy. The VP, Advocacy focuses on helping InVision advance the care it provides to the people it supports, to ensure continued long-term financial stability, and promote strong internal and external communications.

Advocacy:



  1. Lobbying: Engaging with legislators, government agencies, contracted lobbyists, provider associations, peers, and other stakeholders to promote a InVision specific initiatives as well as Intellectual Disability/Autism system priorities.
  2. Organization: Developing strategies and materials to raise organizational awareness and engagement with governmental agencies and legislators about specific issues impacting the organization and the services we provide.
  3. Family Engagement: Building relationships with family members of those we serve to mobilize support for advocacy efforts.
  4. Campaign Planning and Execution: Planning and managing advocacy campaigns, including grassroots mobilization, coalition-building, and outreach programs.


Fundraising:



  1. Donor Identification and Cultivation: Identifying and building relationships with potential donors (individuals, corporations, foundations).
  2. Grant Writing: Overseeing the preparation and submission of grant proposals to secure funding from foundations, government agencies, and other organizations.
  3. Campaign Management: Develops and manages fundraising campaigns, including setting goals, strategies, and deadlines.
  4. Financial Reporting: Oversee the tracking and reporting of donations, grants, and fundraising efforts to ensure compliance and transparency.


Communications:



  1. Media Relations: Writing press releases, pitching stories to the media, and managing relationships with journalists to promote the organization's cause.
  2. Content Creation: Overseeing content creation for various communication channels (e.g., website, social media, newsletters) to engage employees and various other stakeholders
  3. Social Media Management: Overseeing the management of social media accounts, gathering and reviewing data to optimize the usage of social media as a mechanism to engage relevant stakeholders and further the organization's mission.
  4. Brand Messaging: Developing key messaging, speeches, and materials that effectively communicate the organization's mission and goals to different audiences.
  5. Internal Communication: Managing internal messaging to build employee engagement, promote alignment and advocate for the organization's guiding principles. Managing cohesive internal and external communications in crisis or times of emergency.
