They work with cutting-edge equipment, document thoroughly, and navigate systems like EPIC, Radiant, and PACS with confidence. What you'll doSelects appropriate radiation exposure factors according to body area, body habitus, and patient condition. Uses factors to obtain diagnostic quality images consistently while minimizing radiation exposure to patient. Exhibits the ability to analyze his/her examination for completeness and to gather additional patient information or images beyond those called for by standard protocols when necessary. Demonstrates the ability to use problem solving skills to reach independent decisions, tailoring exams to the patient's condition and level of cooperation as necessaryThorough exam documentation is produced on a consistent basis. Documentation for each case includes a pertinent patient history including signs, symptoms, onset and duration. Retains new and complex information. Displays comprehension by employing new principles on all aspects of imaging, including record keeping, patient imaging and patient careDemonstrates competency in the operation of Imaging equipment by following safe operating procedures as recommended by original equipment manufacturer. Performs proper care and cleaning of equipment. Observes and reports equipment malfunctions to immediate supervisor and logs them in the appropriate repair book for service engineersDemonstrates ability to use the Radiant Radiology system. Demonstrates ability to use the Hospital Information System (EPIC) to input procedure requests and charges. Demonstrates ability to use the Hospital PACS System. Demonstrates an understanding of ALARA guidelines by strictly adhering to the Imaging Department's Radiation Safety policies and proceduresFlexibility in job assignment as assigned by leadership.
