The Role

As the Lead Associate, Business Systems & Analysis, you'll be integral to our work in helping vulnerable children achieve a brighter future. You will ensure business support to all USP business lines, supporting system data, financial reporting and analysis needs. You will aid in the development of reports and dashboards that are in line with strategic and operational plans and ensure revisions are compiled, analyzed, and calculated in a timely manner. You will support building capacity within all departments in preparing, managing and utilizing their budgets and completion of division financial analyses by developing and delivering tools and trainings. You will also support detailed financial analyses, modeling, and data mining, as assigned by leadership. You will become familiar with the various systems in use by USP and their available data, partnering with system users and owners to effectively utilize the data in decision making.

What You'll Be Doing (Essential Duties)

Planning & Budgeting, Forecasting (30%)



  • Support the annual planning & budget and budget revision processes for divisions including: develop calendars, work plans, templates, provide training, and prepare financial and narrative documents for presentation to leadership
  • Support forecast and projection process to monitor expectations for current year and future year revenue and expense
  • Support processes to develop multi-year revenue and expense budgets based on input from business lines


System & Data Administration (25%)



  • Learn the systems and software in use by USP (TrackVia, Spendbridge, Agresso) and their associated data.
  • Partner with system users and administrators to better utilize their data and more effectively leverage the use of systems in business analysis and decisions.
  • Crosstrain with system admins to act as backup in key functions within the system.


Training & Technical Assistance (25%)



  • Support budget holders through the development and delivery of training materials and provide technical assistance
  • Partner with Senior Director and members of the finance team to identify gaps in knowledge and prepare tailored development plans for individual staff to address their particular needs, partnering to develop financial literacy and ability to utilize developed tools.


Financial Analysis & Reporting (15%)



  • Support the Senior Director in developing financial reporting to provide leadership with timely information to support decision-making.
  • Support developing tools for analysis of projections and forecasts
  • Support month end and year end financial analysis and reporting including budget versus actual, revenue, funds available, carryforward and personnel
  • Use analytical tools to provide financial information and analysis to support ad hoc needs and requests.


Continuous Improvement (5%)



  • Review, assess, and identify areas improvement in budget policies, procedures, and tools
  • Support development of dashboards to demonstrate performance outcomes and trends for business lines


Required qualifications for the role



  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent, plus at least 3 years of relevant experience


  • Experience with reporting


  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience manipulating data, utilizing it to tell a story


  • Experience with business and/or financial systems and software


  • Professional proficiency in MS Office suite


  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written English


Preferred qualifications for the role



  • A degree in accounting, finance, math, economics, data, etc.


Compensation

Save the Children is offering the following salary ranges for this position, dependent on candidate location:



  • Geo 1 - NY Metro, DC, and other locations with labor costs significantly above national average: Target Salary for this position is $66,300 - $74,100 base salary


  • Geo 2 - Locations around the US National Labor Cost Average: Target Salary for this position is $60,350 - $67,450 base salary


  • Geo 3 - Locations significantly below the US National Labor Cost Average: Target Salary for this position is $54,400 - $60,800 base salary


The salary ranges listed above are for US based candidates. For candidates located outside of the US, salary ranges will be based on the salary scales of the local employer of record. Actual base salary may vary based on, but not limited to, relevant experience, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location (more information on job structure is available here).
