The Assistant Coordinator of the Acute Care Services Unit at TCS assists the Coordinator of the Acute Care Services Unit with the coordination of all services provided to TCS students related to Acute Care needs. Serves as one of the content area specialists for TCS regarding Dialectical Behavior Therapy treatment and provides training, supervision, and consultation to TCS staff and trainees surrounding the provision of this type of treatment. The Assistant Coordinator of the Acute Care Services Unit will primarily provide individual and group counseling support to students presenting with higher risk and symptom acuity and who may be suitable for DBT treatment. Promotes the DBT modality of treatment among counseling center staff and clinical trainees.

As part of their clinical responsibilities at TCS, the Assistant Coordinator of the Acute Care Services Unit provides initial consultation assessments for students to assess the level of acuity of student presenting concerns and the type of services that can support the student. In addition to providing clinical services and consultation for students receiving Acute Care and DBT services, they may also provide individual and couples counseling, as well as family consultation, as needed, to all Temple students. The Assistant Coordinator of the Acute Care Unit also assists TCS in providing crisis intervention services, which may include participation in trauma response interventions after traumatic incidents impacting the University community. May supervise other staff, provide supervision to graduate level clinical trainees, and conduct didactic seminars as part of the counseling center's training program. In addition, the Assistant Coordinator of the Acute Care Services Unit may lead psychoeducational programming for students, manage an orientation to the counseling center for incoming and other students, provide consultation for students, parents, and various other offices throughout the University, and may serve on divisional or University-wide committees. The Assistant Coordinator of the Acute Care Services Unit will help to ensure adequate in-person office coverage for their unit throughout the year. Performs other duties as assigned.

Tuttleman Counseling Services (TCS) has a deep commitment to promoting inclusion and the affirmation of diverse identities and provides excellent service to Temple student users of counseling services, and administrative support to a large professional staff of physicians, psychologists, social workers, and professionals in training. TCS provides culturally sensitive mental health services that support the psychological health of the diverse community of Temple students and thereby their academic success. This role contributes to a positive university experience for every student.

This is a full-time, 12-month position. This is a hybrid position (on-campus and remote).

Required Education & Experience:
Doctorate in clinical or counseling psychology and have independent licensure (or be license-eligible) in the state of Pennsylvania as a psychologist, along with at least three years of directly related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. If unlicensed, it is expected that the candidate will obtain their Pennsylvania license within one year of hire.

Required Skills & Abilities:
*Strong clinical skills.
*Demonstrated ability to provide group, individual, couples, and family counseling, especially with individuals from underrepresented and marginalized student populations.
*Ability to provide rapid assessment of student needs and appropriate support services during initial consultations.
*Ability to assist with determining the overall direction for the Acute Care Unit and crafting corresponding policies and procedures that serve the needs of students and the department.
*Ability to provide consultation to TCS staff, TCS trainees, administration, faculty, staff, students, and families regarding mental health issues.
*Ability to provide trauma response debriefings, classroom notifications, and other interventions for traumatized community members.
*Ability to provide supervision to trainees.
*Ability to provide training in areas of expertise for the department's didactic seminar for doctoral interns and other forums.
*Ability to assist in the hiring of new staff and the selection of trainees.
*Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, along with the ability to work independently and efficiently.
*Ability to participate as a member of the counselor-on-duty rotation providing urgent assessments and consultation to students, staff, and trainees, either in a consultative or direct capacity.
*Ability to facilitate transports for emergency psychiatric evaluations to local emergency facilities in conjunction with the Temple University Police Department (TUPD).
*Ability to assist in the orientation of new and transfer students and their parents to Temple University and to counseling center services.
*Ability to manage multiple collaborative projects and systems in a fast-paced environment.
*Established commitment to multicultural competencies and cultural humility, along with a strong understanding of social justice and diversity, equity, and inclusion principles.
*Ability to serve as one of the TCS content experts on the provision of DBT therapy and services to higher risk populations.
*Prior experience with the provision of DBT therapeutic services, including DBT-informed skill-based groups.
*Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team and sensitivity to cross cultural issues, with a supportive approach to colleagues.
*Experience working in a college counseling center and/or with young adults.
*Experience providing short-term, solution-focused clinical services.
*Prior experience with the use of electronic medical records (e.g. Titanium).
